Although very busy, the bartenders were quick and efficient in getting drinks out and making sure people are getting what they need. They played good music and there's lots of places to sit if you would rather sit.

The cocktails were great, though the bartender was extremely sarcastic and a bit rude to my friend. It was a nice spot for an early evening drink, but started to get really loud and crowded around 7:30pm. I would have liked to try the food as I see many good reviews for it. I'd definitely come back and try it again, perhaps when it's a little quieter.

The slushies at this bar are always a hit! They change the frozen drink and menu regularly. Came here after dinner on a hot day and it was exactly what I needed.

A pretty bustling bar with a small but well-chosen selection of beers, wines and cocktails. The food is surprisingly good! I had the crispy chicken burger and it was excellent -- I wish I came hungrier so I could've finished the whole thing! The best thing is the ambiance: it'll be tough to get a table (and there's no table service anyways, you'll order at the bar) so you'll probably be at the bar or the countertop. Come for a drink, stay for the tightly-packed, dimly-lit, spill-the-tea vibes... and order some food while you're at it!

I've only been here late for a night cap and it's honestly so reliable. Always meet fun people and I usually get the espresso martini that's on tap. Bartenders working overtime deserve all the tips. I love it here!

While on a trip to New York, Mother's Ruin was recommended if we liked cocktails. Well, we do. This feels like a neighborhood bar. They have an upscale bar food menu with some interesting items on it. We had dinner reservations elsewhere, so we didn't have a chance to try the food. What I love about cocktail bars - that have good bartenders - is watching them do their work. Here, I was impressed by what I saw. They have an extensive menu of signature cocktails and will make you anything you want, off-menu. We did try a couple of their classics while waiting. It was fun to watch them make it, and they were very good. The ambiance is casual. This isn't a fancy bar, but there are other reasons to go. Their prices are reasonable, and the talent behind the bar surprised me they didn't price their drinks higher. Fun bar; with good cocktails; a nice place to try.

Food (5/5): The waffle fries and eggplant dip were both really good for a reasonable price! Fries came out hot and crispy and the eggplant dip was very flavorful. Venue (4/5): Not the nicest looking place but it does have a cozy bar vibe. They had Christmas paper snowflake decorations when we came and it was a colorful place. Service (4/5): As far as the people we interacted with they weren't particularly friendly but they helped as needed and provided good service.

Delicious drinks & food and super fun place at @mothersruinnyc with the signature drink The Slugger - which is a Slushy drink! With Gin, Strawberry, Rooibos & Citrus was delish! Also the Charred Eggplant Dip - with Pine nuts, berbere spice, feta, pita was incredible!!! We also had the Espresso Martinis and Glory Hole!
